Computers and Components

By decommissioning computers and other computer components, valuable raw materials can be extracted and be repurposed instead of ending up in landfills, where they become environmental and health hazards. Computers are made with materials such as gold, iron, plastics, and tin. All these elements are repurposable.

If not properly reclaimed and dismantled, computers and computer elements that degrade in landfills can be extremely dangerous to our environment. They contain toxic materials like cadmium, lead, and mercury. Besides allergic reactions, these items can cause kidney damage and cancer.
